Welcome to My Jane Seymour Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Web Site of Events

On April 18, 1999 a "family" reunion was held at Paramount Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles. Only this reunion was a little different from the ordinary family reunion. The family members were mostly identified by their email address. That's right - their email address. Somewhere around 400 people gathered in the pavilion for a BBQ and to meet Jane and the other stars of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and to celebrate with Jane her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We all mingled and talked ... and stood in line for signatures and pictures with Jane, Frank, Jolene, Jessica, Brandon, Beth, Jim, Henry, Barbara, Geoffery, and Wolf (well he didn't sign anything but he was there for pictures). Jane was a real trooper and was available nearly the entire BBQ for signatures and pictures. Besides meeting Jane and company again, half the delight at the BBQ was meeting so many of the people whose names have appeared on the DQ and Joe's Corner mailing lists and finally being able to put faces to names. Beth Sullivan took the opportunity as the BBQ came to a close to thank all the fans for supporting Dr. Quinn and making it possible for them to do the DQ movie and opening the door for future movies and/or a comeback of the television series as a mid season replacement.

Following the BBQ, we either all traveled back to the Hollywood Roosevelt or to our homes to prepare for the rest of the events. There was a video night at the hotel that conference calls kept us from attending but we understand a good time was held by all.

On Monday morning, a smaller crowd gathered into one of the banquet rooms at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel to honor Jane at a breakfast. After being serenaded by a wonderful choir and enjoying a great breakfast, Jane visited each and every table in the room and spent time with everyone before heading out with her mother and sisters for another function they were attending.

Monday afternoon was a leisurely time to relax by the pool and enjoy a movie during the evening hours. Afterall, while we were in Japan, we didn't have much opportunity to catch up on movies so it was great to be able to enjoy one that was on our list to see.

The Ceremony itself went great and it was fantastic to see Jane being honored and to see the Star. Joe Lando and James Keach gave wonderful speeches honoring Jane and her accomplishments in films and in her devotion to so many wonderful causes. Pam Hughes worked tirelessly to get as many people as possible close to the ceremony and mostly succeeded. Pam certainly deserves the thanks of EVERYONE present and of all the Jane fans who were unable to attend for making this a memorable event not only for Jane and her family but for all of those lucky enough to attend in person thereby making it possible for so many more to attend through the pictures and reports provided by the attendees.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. We all enjoyed the speaches by fans and Jane and enjoyed the chance to mingle again with our new found friends and "family". I was glad to see that most of us gave Jane this opportunity to enjoy the events without infringing on her time to enjoy the goings on. Planet Hollywood was the final touch to a wonderful three day event and was attended by many of the fans as well as Jane along with her own friends and family and Frank Collison and his wife. It was great being able to relax and enjoy the film clips from Dr. Quinn and the movie Somewhere in Time that were presented on the movie screens surrounding us. Jane also presented one of her costumes to Planet Hollywood for their collection.

Some of the guests had to head home that night but we were fortunate enough to enjoy another night relaxing before the drive back to San Diego and then the quick trip back to San Diego. Sometimes I wonder where home really is ... all this jetting about sounds great in principal ... but boy its nice to see home when we can...

So I hope you will be able to sit back, relax (while waiting for the pictures to download) and enjoy the three days of events for the Jane Seymour Star...
